Driving Design Thinking Since 2017

DASH began at Aalto University with a simple mission: to inject design thinking into the core
of Finnish business and technology. Today, we bring together students and professionals from all fields
for weekend-long sprints that solve real-world partner challenges.

Design bit #5: The Idea Was Never the Hard Part: Leading Creativity through Collaborative Foresight

SpeakerMicke Hindsberg, Foresight Lead at Yle

VenueThe Stage, Aalto Design Factory

If ideas are cheap, what actually makes creative work strategically robust? Most creative processes stop at the idea. Foresight is what turns that idea into something an organization can actually act on, together. 🔥 Drawing on Yle’s current challenges and this spring’s DASH Sprint as a live case study, Micke will unpack what collaborative foresight really means and how he’s shaping his methods into a toolkit built for the AI era. At Yle, Micke maps the forces reshaping how people consume news and stories, helping translate “what might happen in five years” into something teams can act on today.

48-Hour Sprint.

Multidisciplinary Teams.
Real-World Challenges.

The DASH Sprint is not your typical hackathon. And that is the point. We bring together engineers, business students, doctors, designers, and curious minds to turn ideas into something real.

In just 48 hours, teams work on real-world challenges from our partners, going from rough ideas to concrete prototypes with the help of experienced mentors.

Fast-paced, multidisciplinary, and a bit chaotic (in the best way).
